Celebrating a Century in Miramar

Miramar Corps marked a significant milestone over the weekend of 15 to 16 August, celebrating 100 years of ministry, service and community on Wellington’s Miramar Peninsula. The weekend began with a meet-and-greet morning tea, followed by a self-guided journey through the corps’ history. Attendees also heard from a local historian about the history of Te Motu Kairangi (Miramar Peninsula). The anniversary weekend reflected the many lives touched through Miramar Corps, while those gathered used the opportunity to reconnect, share memories and give thanks for God’s faithfulness across a century of mission. The anniversary concluded on Sunday 16 August with prayer, coffee and a special centenary celebration service. Joined by former Miramar musicians and generations of Salvationists, the congregation reflected on ‘our story’, marking a glorious past 100 years while also looking ahead with hope and prayer.
