Hosted by Melvyn Bragg since it began 25 years ago, each 45-minute programme includes thoughtful commentary and insights from a panel of up to three academic experts. If you are interested in Roman history, for example, try these episodes: Julius Caesar, Nero, Pliny’s Natural History, Battle of the Teutoburg Forest, Roman Slavery and Cleopatra.
