The Voice of Hind Rahab

In January 2024, Red Crescent volunteers received an emergency call from five-year-old Hind Rajab pleading for rescue while trapped in a car with her deceased family under fire from the Israel Defence Forces in Gaza. This film recreates what took place in the call centre as they tried to save Hind and as their efforts to broker a safe path and rescue proved futile. As fine a job is the actors do, the most compelling part is the actual audio of Hind, unbelievably brave and composed, begging for her life while injured and alone in the dark, with the sound of gunshots in the background.
