Kids Camp in the Light

Did you know Jesus is the light of the world? That’s the message that 378 tamariki and their leaders from across The Salvation Army gathered to celebrate at our Aotearoa New Zealand Kids Camp in late September. Held across three locations, we connected with God and each other through praise, kai, small groups, Bible stories, prayer, adventure, games, glow parties and more!

Here’s what some children had to say:

‘Camp was fun; my favourite part was archery tag. And Kenneth made us all row a pretend boat and told us about Jesus calming the storm.’—Kane

‘I enjoyed making new friends and learning that Jesus is God’s son.’—Miziyah

‘I enjoyed making and giving cards to the cooks, Aimee and Ben. The weather was wet and sunny. I enjoyed making new friends.’—Everleigh

‘I liked seeing four dogs and going swimming in my free time activity.’—Riki

‘My last year of kids camp was really fun. The waterslide was low-key amazing. God is good.’—Ayla

‘It was great fun, we loved bridge building, archery tag and rock climbing.’—Israel and Toby
