Published in 2011, Surprised by Oxford had been on my reading list for some time—and it did not disappoint. This beautifully written memoir explores the intersection of intellect and faith as Carolyn Weber recounts her spiritual awakening while studying at Oxford. She weaves together poetry, classic literature and rich conversations with mentors and friends as she journeys toward knowing Jesus. What stood out most was her sincere honesty as she wrestled with what it truly means to follow Christ in everyday life. The memoir also intertwines a romantic narrative and has since been adapted into a film. (Reviewed by Kelly Cooper)
