Lucky You’re Tough is an in-depth memoir about a remarkably resilient New Zealander. From Mark Law’s gruelling service in the NZSAS, the book introduces a man who thrives under pressure. The story moves through Angola and Albania, where Law works in private security and repeatedly brushes with death, including an ambush involving diamond traders. Yet the most compelling aspect is how he channels that adventurous spirit into building Kāhu NZ, driven by a lifelong passion for flying. In the chapters leading to the Whakaari/White Island disaster, he occasionally becomes bogged down in aviation technicalities.
